This painting is to show off the clear clean skies we have in East Texas this year. We sure are blessed to have such views. It was as if the heavens opened up and shone on the grazing cows in the fields.

Was thinking about the opportunity to paint all theses different colors and styles all at once. Changed some of the hat colors to protect the innocent no just to have better color harmony. This was all about that moment when the warm light hit the tree and created these beautiful blue and purple shadows. Standing tall and proud came to mind, you can see this tree has had challenges and yet like us somehow we make it. I almost didn't paint this one because I was always told never put the main subject
so close to the middle.Well this is obviously the exception to that rule and turned out just fine.

As you can see their is allot to look at, one of the things you have to do as an artist is direct the scene.Probably the hardest thing is to choose whats important and what needs to be toned down and removed.I hope that you can see the depth and the detail where it was needed and you follow the stream and the shadows through this valley to the unknown in the distance.I also painted a larger version of this for a art demo still completely different.Love to here your thoughts and questions , Enjoy.

I'm amazed how much detail you can get on a 5 X 7 painting and have so much caricature. I'm not familiar with this vehicle if you know the make and model let me know. One thing that we are blessed with in Texas is good condition older vehicles. It must be the fair weather we have and the love of these beauty's here. My next painting is call " Big Red " Huge older truck will post that tomorrow. I think the booth make a great pair however I think the truck is a little older than this car, you decide.?

No two hills the same and certainly no two paths the same. God loves to show off and as a artist its always a challenge to capture the beauty of nature.

Don't you Think that sunrises / sunsets are the best expression of something bigger than yourself that how I feel when I see one and paint one.
