Wanted to share something different and warmer, even thought this could be winter somewhere in the world just not here. I like the size of these 6 X 8 just small enough with room for allot of detail. This was a road along the Florida gulf  and all of a sudden this island of palms .The sun was setting and the sky was beautiful. Hope you take time to warm up to this one?

It seems like a simple enough design yet with the right lighting and colors there's just more to it.The sky says something with the non traditional colors yet inviting. The shadow of the foreword tree is cool and calm. The slight hint of the bright warm sun in the water. I don't know maybe I'm dreaming how does it strike you. Getting down to the last couple of painting for 2013 this is a small collector size 6 X 8.

Wanted to take this time to thank you very much for the response this year and to wish you and your family's a Very Merry Christmas. May God Bless you and your family.

Will never forget when I started painting . I was amazed by an artist who is no loner with us Dick Turner do a demo of an old man with a beard. This never left my mind and this past summer i painted this admirer who walked into my booth at the Christmas in July show. Wanted to give it a go and here it is. The painting sold the first time I showed it must have done a pretty good job what do you think.

Wanted a winter scene and one that had a glow to it. The same time checking the values out  they seem OK.
There is such a love hate for this time of year the love is the beauty of a snow scene it like a blank canvas full of opportunities. Then there the hate of just being so cold. Luckily here in Texas not so much the problem. However growing up in the North East I have scene my share of winter and snow.

This is the block in stage of my latest painting " The Manhattan Library " Will keep you posted. At this stage I'm just trying to get the valves right see if it reads tackle the most difficult part the lion statue. Do you think the warm cold is working to this point still have a ways to go.

" High Tide Sunset " SOLD

I cannot believe its been since September that I have posted any art work. Life has a way if you let it to take all your time. I will be posting a painting each day this week.

Demo Painting NFS

This is my Demo of Values Verses Colors. I had a work shop over the weekend with the Hide away lake ladies art league. We had a great discussion on this concept of values verses Colors. Which one is more important Values won. So what I did was paint another painting with random colors of the same scene how ever hitting the right value. The painting was a success and with all the business of the day never got a picture of the painting . You will have to try it yourself and see.

Feed back is welcome have a great day walking your pet today.

" Rose Fever " SOLD

As a Artist one of the hardest things to paint is red for a few reasons. One red if you copy it turns black so its very tricky to get the value right. And second its almost difficult to lighten the color without chalking it out. So here it is long stem beauty. I will have another yellow Rose to add to this 6 X 6 collection.

Sharp edges yet soft petals, Something red something green. Always a challenge and yet such fun to paint. My Mom loved these beauties. From the Tyler Rose Gardens.

When the light catches your eye in such a way to make your head turn back . Well that's when you have to take notice. That's exactly what happened going down this road through all these farm pastures and here it was just the small simple farm homestead. That's all I need to capture my eye.

I see these colors that only appear during special times of day called sunrise and sunset's . Unless you have a magic camera you cannot capture them on film. That's why I enjoy painting them, the colors are usually to dark and the lights are to bleached. I gave it my best and wanted to share it with you today. Sit back relax and enjoy the view and the possibilities for the new day.

Why I paint has allot to do with paintings like this one . Here we are going through life and we spots a beautiful place like this. Everything seems perfect and heaven sent. You want to share it with someone very special . To let them know how you feel, that you want to share your love and appreciate for them. Well this painting says that to me if it speaks to you that is why I paint.
Enjoy :0)....

When you don't know its nice to have some sort of guidance and direction. This painting gives you a direction towards the light. Rustic and true a path toward an answer. A way to go that seems right and is light. When you start a painting and have a idea how it will turn out and the end result surpasses that, it's only by the power beyond our ability that creates such work. Thanks for letting me ramble and enjoy "Guiding Light".

Life can be a bit much at times and you just need a place to go and be quiet and let God speak to you. This is that place that comes to my mind, where I can hear my Fathers thought of comfort. May It speak to you the same way it does to me. May you find your Quiet place as well?

Greens always a adventure to capture. Its been said that the quest of a landscape artist is to capture the true color of green. Add distance and create depth by how you treat that color. If you can do that you have created a painting that looks more 3'd or the illusion of it. I'm a long way from that however, I'm sure loving the adventure like with this painting.

This is the result of the finished demo, Would like to add maybe a few highlights to the sunset, however this seems powerful enough. I went a little much on the colors , if the dry grass looked warm went all the way , Or if they looks cool went to a purplish. Cool shadow went with a blue color,. closer greens more intense, further away dull green. As you can see on the left side all the way to a bluish purple for the more distant greens. Was a lot of fun mentioned to may times when they asked a question about a certain part of the painting. Was your eye drawn there if so should it? if not you need to change something about that spot .For instance change the contrast , or gray the color that caught your eye or remove the highlight that's there. If you wanted your eye there then just leave it. However keep looking away from your painting then back and reference what catches your eye and should it ?? Yes, leave it, no change it. Always having fun with Art.

Pallet of Roses art League Demo wanted to give a glimpse of my painting coming together enjoy.
