 Majesty, Splendor, Glory, All very appropriate names and descriptions don't you think. Love the painting and the subject and all the endless references.  The brushwork on a board is so delicate and challenging. Seems the photos pick it up more than in real life. The sky transition from a cool distant sky above to a glowing distant fading sun.

What is going on here you have a glowing sky lighting up the background. The distance hills are capturing the glow turning the blue distance hills into a mauve splendor. The mid section is cooling down with a cool blue in the field. You can see the warm sky trying to cut through the trees. Is it too much man was it allot of fun.

I live in Texas and enjoy painting the lush green rolling hill. I also loving painting Oceans and Dessert I have lived on the shore and have always enjoyed the colors of the desserts.  . It's probably because neither are in the East Texas Area. However my recent trip to Arizona I took allot of photos. This scene of this one main cactus caught my eye with the view of such a grand background. It was saying paint me paint me.

I only have a few more reference photo's left from my Arizona trip. I will make the best of the last few and enjoy every moment of it. The Arizona Blue painting has finally set the stage for something allot more cooler.

Something a bit cooler , I went from fire now to ice.
About a month ago I had this strange feeling as I was walking to look over my shoulder. This is what I saw the morning mist and the moon playing peek a poo with me. One minute you would see it the next it was gone. I thought how do I capture this moment and do it justice? The colors are very muted and yet peaceful I was very careful to keep all the tones close on the sky. This is my painting of "MORNING MOON" thanks for looking. More on a wonderful trip taken in Phoenix . Learned allot about the desert not a place to take for granted in. You are surrounded by hills and mountains at the horizon where ever you seem to look. Each hill a different age shape and color. Too much to choose from.

This subject of the moon seems to be quite interesting. On the night of the Blood moon there was overcast in Texas . I was wanting to catch a view of it , they say it won't happen again till 2033.
