" PITCHER AND FRIENDS " - SOLD

So many elements in this one painting brass, China, Pottery fruit and flower. Once again  painting a challenge.
Love the brass/ copper bell with the wooden handle next to the fruit high light. The shadows with the slight hue changes from cool to warm..

" Camilla's Still Life "

I wanted something metal and shiny so I used my wife's stainless steel tea pot.  Like the Camilla's and just added the green grapes to compliment the red in the flower's. I like still life and the setup along with the lighting effect that you get to control . I have learned so much from my resent workshop. The thing that surprised me the most where the little things that mean allot to painting in general. I call it an tune up and well worth it. The painting is 10X better than this photo and will be hard to let go of. this is not a mini a stretch canvas 16 X 20. I  painted this against a thick tapestry  style drapery you can see the subtle waves of the material in the back ground. Who would have thought a shadow would look so cool , I think what makes it so cool is the fact its right next to the highlight. Another Happy Happy accident. enough gabbing let paint and have fun doing it.

Workshop day three

Wanted to show a better picture of the painting from day 1 above. Now on day three after studying with the master was only able to get to the 2nd stage of seven which is one was the drawing sketch and stage two is the value painting. .I included the picture of the set up and a Black and white and of course my rendering of the object.

Demo Day 2

Like I said earlier it has been 5 years since the last workshop with " One Stoke Whong ". This was the nick name given him at the workshop. Trust me this is a compliment and a strong testament to his style.

" Day 1 Work Shop W/ Qiang Huang "

Not the best picture ( From My Phone ) Well It's time for a tune up and Back to the basics / Fundamentals.
Chong Wang ( Spelled Qiang Huang ). I have the pleasure of attending an workshop with Him this weekend. The way he explains and shows the foundation of painting is very valuable. 1. Drawing 2. Values , 3 Color. Sounds Easy right well here is my attempt about 3 hrs and still needs work. However its amazing to me the things you forget. It has been 5 years since the last time with him. Well worth the effort if you get the chance . Will keep you posted .
